Track Open 58 to 61

The track between point 58 and point 61 has now been re-opened after the Harvesting Operations. The track may be muddy.

Harvesting operations continue around the Brynffo car park area and beyond.

Brynffo Harvesting Operations

Harvesting operations will shortly start around the Brynffo car park area and beyond as per the attached map.  This will be standard thinning of spruce, and clearance of larch.

We have identified that there are larch trees affected (some already dead) by the disease Phytophthora ramorum in this area, and in line with disease control orders we will be felling all larch trees whether they show symptoms or not.

It’s a shame but this felling will rather alter the landscape and feel of the car park. However it will give us the opportunity of planting a wider range of species, particularly broadleaves, once the infected trees have been removed.

Report from Lester Dagge event organiser.

The Dally Rally we held this weekend was a great success for a first event with participants travelling from all parts of the country including Macclesfield, Daventry, Kent, Caerphilly and Llanwrtyd Wells! We hope to run it again next year.

We had a talk from the Canine Nutritionalist from Gilbert and Page as well as two trainers who taught us all such a lot about the Dalmatian breed and what to expect, all really useful stuff!

All in all it was a unique and wonderful day, great weather too.
